St. Augustine Olympic & Sprint Triathlon at Vilano Beach

This destination race includes an Olympic distance Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquabike as well as the Sprint Triathlon and Sprint Duathlon.

The St. Augustine Amphitheatre Farmers Market offers visitors a variety of goods such as local fresh produce, handmade arts and crafts, baked goods, plants directly off the farm, freshly caught seafood, cheeses, and more.

Fort Mose Militia Muster & Training

First Saturday of the month except July, 9:30 to 11:30 am

The Fort Mose Militia bring the 18th century back to life by practicing their firing drills, and by teaching new members historic weapons use and safety. Park visitors witness the weapons demonstrations, which include musket firings. This unique experience provides great photo opportunities and is a wonderful way to spend a day enjoying a state park.

Admission: The program is free. Admission to the Visitor Center is $2.00 for adults and free for children under six.

 

Sea Turtle Nesting Season Activities

May through October

Vilano Beach is an important nesting site for sea turtles, and during nesting season, there are numerous educational activities and volunteer opportunities. Join guided beach walks to learn about sea turtle conservation, or participate in nighttime turtle patrols. It’s a unique way to connect with nature and support wildlife preservation.

Weekend Cannon Firing  - Castillo de San Marcos

Saturdays and Sundays, 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm. 3:30 pm

Cannons are fired from the gundeck on most Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year, weather and staffing permitting. The fort is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The Castillo de San Marcos located directly on the bayfront at 1 South Castillo Drive, St. Augustine, Florida.

Parking is available in the parking lot in front of the Castillo and can be paid with credit and debit cards at the automated stations. Parking is also available along the street and in the parking garage about a block from the fort.
